Field House Renovation
Project Description: The existing Watson Field House consists of one (1) building of one (1) story. The Watson Field House Renovation may incorporate a mezzanine level within the existing envelope of the building. The existing structure is steel frame. This total gross area of the building renovation will be approximately 18,514 gross square feet (22,824 gross square feet if mezzanine level is incorporated).
The scope would ideally include the following: Olympic Sports Weight Room, Sports Medicine Training Facility, and Sports Equipment Laundry. The Scope is subject to change.
It is anticipated that minor, if any, modifications will need to be done to the existing exterior of the building to accommodate program spaces.
It is envisioned that the construction of the project will be completed within one academic year.
Services from the design team will include:
1. Review and documentation of existing conditions.
2. Full design services (A through E) as defined in the Alabama Building Commission Manual.
