F-18 Ejection Seat Support Equipment
NAVAIR NAWCAD Lakehurst intends to enter into a limited source Competition between The Martin Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd and their authorized distributors in support of FMS Kuwait Air Force (KAF) Super Hornet program to provide various support equipment required to support NACES SJU-17B ejection seat used in the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet. The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation Section 6.302-1. The Martin Baker Aircraft Company manufactures the NACES SJU-17B ejection seat used in the F/A-18 E\F Super Hornet. They are the only vendor with the technical expertise to manufacturer these items, which need to meet exact specifications with the ejections seats to ensure proper fit. At this time the Government does not possess the drawings/technical data necessary to support a competitive acquisition. A determination by the Navy not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Navy.
