FY19-22 Broad Ocean Area (BOA) Impact Scoring for NAVY Trident D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Flight Tests Engineering Support.
Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Trident Research, LLC for the continued support of the overall management for the Portable Impact Location System (PILS) Reentry Body (RB) Impact Scoring system. In addition to FBM scoring, the contract will require Maintenance and Engineering Support Services for the PILS system, GEN 3 Refreshed Buoys and Fabrication of a New Fleet of PILS Buoys.
SSP intends to enter into this agreement with Trident Research, LLC. Austin, TX 78758, because this is a follow-on award to current Contract N00030-17-C-0010, which was awarded using other than full and open competition. Trident Research, LLC. is the only known source that has detailed knowledge of the engineering principles involved with the PILS system, required to support FBM flight missions, detailed knowledge of and experience with integrating the operations of PILS with the unique Strategic Weapons System (SWS), and FBM hardware, and a thorough understanding of and experience working with the Instrumentation support platforms (Launch Area Support Ship (LASS), (NMIS)) used in conjunction with PILS during FBM/SWS test operations.
