Executive Secretary Treasurer, South Dakota Library Association
The association has retained an Executive Secretary since the early 80s. The position was revised to include fiscal and continuing education tasks as an Executive Secretary Treasurer in 2005. Treasurer duties including Quick Books accounting software were added with the elimination of a volunteer treasurer. Continuing education tasks of registration, revenue and vendor solicitation have been automated using Microsoft software. A software vendor subscription exists for MemberClicks that is used to maintain directory and membership information. The Board meeting materials are paperless and procedures are digitized. Procedures for awarding labor contracts were adopted by the Board in May 2008 to include a request for proposal process.
