Erie Harbor Park Planning and Preliminary Design
The City is issuing a Request for Proposals to provide planning phase tasks and design services for Erie Harbor Park Planning and Preliminary Design Project. The project will include the potential relocation of a segment of the Genesee Riverway Trail. The project will result in schematic site plans, color renderings, preliminary design drawings, cost estimates, and an overall implementation strategy for the park.
The Erie Harbor Park site is located on a riverfront site adjacent to South Avenue on the east side of the Genesee River, opposite Woodbury Boulevard in the City of Rochester downtown. The land is currently an under-utilized site next to the Court Street Dam. The land is zoned Center City District. Numerous easements cross the property making private development challenging. The parcel is about 1.9 acres in size.
The Erie Harbor Site Plan and Preliminary Design project helps implement the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) goal of promoting and protecting the Genesee Riverfront area. This project is being funded, in part, with a grant under Title 11 of the New York State Environmental Protection Fund Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.
