Environmental Health & Safety Internal Audit
The Company is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to conduct an
Environmental Health and Safety Audit for a one-time engagement under a Master Services Agreement
The Company would like to engage a firm to conduct an environmental health and safety audit with primary focus on our laboratory
environments. RTI has chemistry, biochemistry, and microelectronic laboratories, and the audit will require the selected party
to observe and evaluate 10 to 15 laboratories. The selected independent party will:
Evaluate RTIs policies, procedures, and practices governing environmental health and safety against regulatory
requirements and industry best practices.
Assess RTIs health and safety programs.
Evaluate the risk management structure supporting environmental health and safety.
Evaluate the quality, comprehensiveness, and administration of health and safety training programs and records.
Assess the physical security of laboratories and other sensitive areas (Note: it is not necessary to bring a separate
Security Professional).
Assess the health and safety of our laboratory environments.
Ensure appropriate safety measures are in place for transporting, storing, handling, and disposing of hazardous
materials.
Verify an adequate incident management plan is in place.
Assess the staffing levels required for programs in place and envisioned using benchmark data from other similar
organizations.
Assess the anticipated level of effort required to accomplish any corrective actions indicated as a result of the audit.
