Environmental Control Units
Due to the nature of this program, the University is seeking an ECU that is user-friendly in that it is easy to learn and does not require extensive programming by the user. The system chosen should be flexible in that it can be reprogrammed on a yearly basis for new users with different abilities. Some residents may require a voice activated system, some a sip- and-puff, while some may prefer a different switch type.
Because of the location of these units, the University is looking for ECU's that will not interfere with each other. The ECU should work in the resident's room and in their bathroom; it should open both their room door and their bathroom door along with other features in each space.
