Energy Storage Demonstration Project
The Authority is soliciting proposals for a demonstration project to examine the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of installing an energy storage system that captures electrical regenerative brake energy produced by transit rail cars. The captured regenerative brake energy will be stored in a wayside battery system and used to reduce peak power loads and voltage sags in the rail lines.
