This project is to address the status of the Sprague's Pipit in southeastern Texas.:

•    Inclusion of a literature review and evaluation of that data on the above named species.
•    Survey and census of all current populations and their locations. The survey associated with this project should incorporate an analysis of the historical range in comparison with the present range. This should include population size estimations at its current locations. Population trends in Texas should be documented in the final analysis
•    An assessment of habitat that supports the target species, including habitat requirements and status of current habitat. This evaluation should include current anthropogenic impacts on the habitat and suggestions on how to restore the habitat, if needed.
•    An analysis of suitable, available habitats that exist in Texas that could maintain the species, including a determination of how habitat fragmentation would affect populations of this species.
•    With knowledge of this species’ biology, determine if captive propagation is a logical conservation technique for this species.
•    Identification of any factors that could be threatening the populations, including the possible impact of climate change.
