The State has identified energy efficiency as a major strategy to reduce the state's energy use. Industrial, agriculture and water customers consume a large portion of the state's energy and can make a major contribution to the reduction of electricity and natural gas consumption by adopting new energy efficient technologies. This grant solicitation by the Energy Commission (Energy Commission), through its Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program, is soliciting both electricity and natural gas energy efficiency technologies in
the areas of industrial, water and wastewater, data centers, and customer-side energy storage applications.
