Electronic Filing System
The Judicial Branch of the State of Kansas seeks to implement a statewide Electronic Filing System (EFS) to be used by the District Courts and the Appellate Court (Court of Appeals and Supreme Court). This initiative will implement a technology-based infrastructure which supports the acceptance of electronically filed documents from attorneys, self represented litigants, other court filers, and the electronic filing of court generated documents. Electronic notifications for all EFS users will leverage the time and cost savings of filing documents electronically. This project is sponsored by the Office of Judicial Administration (OJA).
The State of Kansas is requesting proposals from qualified vendors for the provision of an electronic filing system with associated implementation and ongoing support services, which will provide Kansas courts with the tools necessary to operate in an electronic environment using modern technology. The scope of these applications includes all case types handled by the courts of general jurisdiction. The applications will operate on Personal Computers (PCs) and Local Area Networks (LANs) and provide all functionality for the Judicial Branch of the State of Kansas to operate in an electronic filing environment.
