THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.  REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE.

This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) is in support of Market Research being conducted by the United States Air Force to identify potential new manufacture sources and to determine if this effort can be competitive or a Small Business Set-Aside.  This is not a Request for Proposal (or solicitation) or an indication that a contractual commitment will exist for this requirement. The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market research.  No funds are available to fund the information solicited.

The Missile Sustainment Division located at Tinker Air Force Base is requesting information, pursuant to FAR PART 10, in support of Market Research to identify potential sources for the new manufacture of the NSN(s) listed below to sustain the Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM).  The Government will use this information to determine the best future acquisition strategy for this procurement, inclusive of the potential need to do an Industry Day and/or Presolicitation Conference.

The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 336419, which has a corresponding Size Standard of 1000 employees.  The Government is interested in all businesses to include, Large Business, Small Business, Section 8(a) Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Businesses, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses.

The contractor shall be capable of furnishing all required labor, material, test equipment, facilities, and other equipment to accomplish sample lot testing, kitting, packaging, and provide the government remanufactured units in accordance with the specification 232-11704 (attachment).

The Electro-Mechanical Linear Actuators drive the elevons to the commanded positions for aerodynamic control and stability. Two identical Linear Actuators are driven by a common electronic control unit (Servo Actuator Controller). Each Actuator consists of an electric motor, reduction gearing, ball screw, linear position transducer, and sensors required for functioning of the position servo. Cabling between the actuators and controller is a part of each Actuator. The Linear Actuator is used on an Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM). The effort to be accomplished shall include remanufacturing of the Linear Actuator to include replacement of the potentiometer, replacement of the bearing assembly, and re-soldering of the W1P1 connector.

Please explain how your company plans to remanufacture the NSN(s) below. Note: this effort will require a new NSN that the government will provide after contract award.
