The 502d Contracting Squadron, JBSA- Ft Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the capabilities to meet the requirements and qualifications for providing and installing Electric Steam Generators.
Contractors/Institutions voluntarily responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards.
Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) will help guide the strategy of how this requirement is procured.  This Request for Information RFI/Sources Sought Notice is issued for informational and planning purposes only. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be made as a result of this RFI. The Air Force will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this RFI. Contact with Government personnel other than those specified in this RFI by potential offerors or their employees' regarding this project is prohibited. This notice is an announcement seeking market information on vendors capable of providing the services as described herein.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The following pages contain a description of the requirement and a Contractor Capability Survey. The work description is an excerpt from the draft Statement of Work (SOW) for this project. The work description is meant to be an overview of the work of this project and may not be the exact verbiage used in the final SOW. This survey allows contractors to provide their company's capability for this requirement.
2. If, after reviewing these documents, you voluntarily desire to participate in the market research, please provide documentation supporting your company's capability in meeting the requirements.
3. Small businesses are encouraged to participate in this Market Research.
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: The draft document is intended to provide a general description of this project. The final SOW will be provided with the official solicitation
**The following is an excerpt from the draft SOW for this project.
Minimum Requirements / Specifications/ Salient Characteristics: Requirement for two (2) Electric Steam Generators and parts needed for installation. All items must be new. Used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered for award:

The purchase and installation Quantity 2 each, 180KW Electric Steam Generator (208V) with 571.5 lbs/hr output (259.8 kg/hr). Must include Auto Flush and Drain B Kit, 3/8" Steam Trap and 1" NPT Check Valve for installation. Must provide high-quality (97% vapor quality) clean steam, have automatic controls to control operating pressure and monitor for high pressure limit. It must also have a low water cut-off feature. Heating section must be insulated with 2" thick glass fiber.
