This is a federal aid construction project funded under the local agency program. This project is funded by Federal grant funds and FDOT grant funds and require bidder to comply with grant funding requirement as identified in the Federal Local Agency Program Provisions. This includes the requirement that the Contractor shall utilize the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's E-Verify system during the term of the Contract. The proposed work consists of the construction of a 12 foot wide shared use pathway along the east side of the El Rio Canal from the north side of the L-40 Canal to the west side of Congress Avenue. In addition, a new signalized intersection will be constructed where the path intersects Congress Avenue. The work includes concrete path construction, limerock, stabilization, earthwork, sodding, signing, pavement marking, pedestrian signal modifications, concrete pavers, fence installation and minor concrete curbing, all in accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The estimated budget for this project is $750,000. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Bid Bond Required: Bid response shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of an original surety company bid bond, issued by a surety authorized to transact business in Florida, or certified check, drawn upon any State or National Bank in Florida, payable to the City of Boca Raton in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Grand Total. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Performance and Payment Bond Required: The successful bidder identified on the Signature of Bidder Form shall be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To Obtain Bid: Bidders must register on the City's online supplier registration system by going to http://www.myboca.us/fin/purchasing/supplierlogin.shtm and click on "New Supplier Registration". When opening all the files of the bid document, please be patient as some of the files are very large and may take a few minutes. NOTE: A hard copy of this bid document IS NOT available in the Purchasing Division. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Pre-Bid Meeting (Non-Mandatory): All interested parties are invited to attend a pre-bid conference on July 19, 2011 commencing promptly at 10:00 a.m., located in the Purchasing Conference Room at City Hall, 201 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Vendors are urged to be prompt and be familiarized with the bid documents. Bidders are urged to print out their own copy of the bid for their review at the pre-bid meeting, as the Purchasing Division will not have copies of this bid on hand to distribute to bidders. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This ITB is not available for electronic submission and requires the sealed bid to be submitted to the City of Boca Raton, Purchasing Division, 201 W.
