The Phoenix Affiliate STEP (screening, treatment and education program) Grants are one-year grants for community projects providing outreach and education, screening services, and treatment services to the medically underserved, uninsured or underinsured. The Phoenix Affiliate is seeking both emerging and established projects for funding for the 2008/09 grant cycle.
Funding Areas
Education projects will be funded up to $50,000. The Phoenix Affiliate has decided to fund only education projects that are effective in promoting behavioral change or empowering individuals to make good breast health decisions. Organizations requesting funding for educational projects should include only interventions that are evidence based and can demonstrate a successful outcome/result.
Screening projects will be funded up to $75,000. Screening grants should use Komen funding as a last resort for those women who are uninsured, underinsured and do not qualify for WWHC or AHCCCS.
Treatment service projects will be funded up to $100,000. All Komen funding for treatment service projects must be used to serve medically underserved, uninsured, underinsured and/or those who do not qualify for WWHC or AHCCCS.
Statement of Need
We are seeking projects that focus on education and outreach, screening or treatment services among medically underserved, uninsured or underinsured communities including migrant workers and women under 40.
