The Department is seeking services for the Clay Pit Ecosystem Restoration Project. The site is characterized by very poor B horizon soils of the complex which have been left exposed by dig operations. This project is designed to create a stable land surface with a consistent ground cover of native herbaceous vegetation. This will; a) restore damage from previous training activities, b) protect nearby roads from erosion damage in the future, c) improve environmental quality in the contributing and receiving watersheds, d) improve storm water uptake and infiltration, and e) reduce the dominance of exotic species.
