The City of Hastings is requesting proposals for studies that address the issue of bank erosion and needed improvements to the CDS units that will facilitate the removal of trash and debris. Erosion is occurring adjacent to a well-used portion of the Pioneer Spirit Trail and is contributing to significant sediment loads into Heartwell Lake. Currently, clean-out of the CDS units is cumbersome, requiring significant man-power and resources. The study should include a review of available options for addressing bank erosion and alternatives for modifications to the CDS units to facilitate the cleaning out of captured debris. Proposals must be received by April 30, 2019.
