The Economic Development Corporation is seeking proposals for the disposition and development of seven (7) sites varying in size between 2,000 square feet and 19,600 square feet (each, a Site, and collectively, the Sites) in the East New York section of Brooklyn. The Sites are situated in the East New York Industrial Business Zone (ENY IBZ), for which, NYCEDC seeks users or developers of industrial space to purchase and redevelop all or some of the Sites. The primary land uses within the ENY IBZ are light industrial and manufacturing with a cluster of steel and metal working/fabrication, construction, transportation, warehouse/distribution and vinyl manufacturing. Tenants and businesses benefit from this cluster of compatible land uses in many ways. Industrial operators are largely situated adjacent to compatible land uses and benefit from the co-location of similar businesses. The ENY IBZ enables industrial businesses to function according to their specific needs, with uninhibited truck access, freedom from dense pedestrian traffic, as well as minimal potential for conflicts with neighboring residential uses over noise, truck trips and hours of operation.
