ENTERPRISE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE AND IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES
This Request for Information ("RFI") is to solicit information from Vendors capable of
implementing a full suite of Enterprise Content Management ("ECM") Software and related
products and professional Services. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ("UNC-
Chapel Hill") plans to purchase an Enterprise Content Management solution to address
document and web content management needs. In concert with its ERP implementation, UNC-
Chapel Hill plans to implement a full-featured document management system that will enable
tracking, storing, and access to electronic documents and scanned images of paper documents.
Such a product would also allow management of document workflows and lifecycles, including
record retention. UNC-Chapel Hill also plans to implement a web content management solution
that is robust enough to manage and bring consistency to its enterprise web content. The solution
should provide UNC-Chapel Hill with tools to create manage and deploy multiple template and
component-based Web sites. Additionally, it should enable business users to create content in
user-friendly WYSIWYG form-based environment with in-context preview as well as in-context
workflow and approval. The solution should help minimize Web site complexity and
development as well as enforce consistent corporate branding across multiple sites designed and
maintained by different business users.
