The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a modification to the sole-source contract (N00019-18-C-1046) with The Boeing Company (TBC). This contract action is for the procurement of critical F/A-18E/F Block III- configuration spare parts in fiscal years (FYs) 2019-2020 needed to achieve and sustain F/A-18E/F aircraft readiness.

The procurement will be procured under NAICS 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing), and is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” The Government does not currently possess the necessary supplies and/or services to support Block III configuration spare parts using a source other than TBC. Therefore, NAVAIR has determined that award of Block III configuration spare parts to any source other than TBC would result in unacceptable delays to fielding this requirement.
