Drug and Alcohol Testing & Driver History Checks

Provide drug and alcohol testing for Commercial Drivers License (C.D.L.) personnel for various
departments of County. There will be approximately 35 - 50 employees tested per year.
Testing shall be administered in accordance with the U. S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor
Carrier Safety Drug and Alcohol Testing Program and the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing
Act of 1991, Pub. L., No. 102-143, Title V., 105 Stat. 952 (1991). 49 Code of Federal Regulations 382
sets forth the requirements for testing and record keeping. 49 C.F.R. 40 tells exactly how the testing will
be done.
