Drug Testing Program
The purpose of this request for proposals is to provide a drug testing program for intercollegiate athletes and
students in clinical and practical training (select students) at the institutions within the University of North
Carolina (UNC or the University). The testing program is to be composed of three parts: Randomselection
testing of a portion of the select students at each institution; individual testing of select students
based on reasonable suspicion of drug use; and team/group testing pre-season/rotation, in-season/semester,
and post-season/semester, if necessary. Each of the institutions will determine the percentage of their select
students to test under the random selection component. In addition, each institution will determine which
individuals to test under the second component and which teams/groups to test under the third component.
