Dredging Wicomico River
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Maintenance Dredging of the Wicomico River utilizing a firm-fixed price (FFP) construction contract to the lowest bidder from this acquisition. FAXED OR ELECTRONIC BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project provides for a channel 14 feet deep and 150 feet wide from Upper Ferry to Salisbury, MD. The maintenance dredging shall be performed using a hydraulic dredge. The dredging will consist of the removal of approximately 100,000 cubic yards (CY) of material. The dredge material will consist primarily of mud, silt, sand, shell, and gravel. This work includes raising some of the dikes of the placement site.
The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
This procurement is being solicited as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, with a small business size standard of $33.5 million.
Contract duration is estimated between 90-120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be available in electronic format only and will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at http://www.fbo.gov on or about 14 July 2014 with a closing date on or about 14 August 2014. IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OFFEROR TO CONTINUALLY VIEW THE WEBSITE FOR CHANGES.
