Drainage Design and/or River Mechanics Engineering
The scope of work consists of providing engineering and related efforts for the design of drainage
facilities, river mechanics and natural channel design and restoration for highway projects. The drainage
design work may include culverts, open channels, storm sewers, erosion and sediment control, and
stormwater management facilities for highway projects. The river mechanics work may include the
hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of bridged waterways and major structures as well as an analysis to
determine scour potential. The natural channel design and restoration work may include providing
designs and assistance to channel restoration efforts in environmentally sensitive project areas. A limited
amount of roadway design and plan assembly may be required as a part of the design efforts. Survey and
geotechnical analysis may be required on an as-needed basis.
