The Downey Farmstead Restoration project is located along Frager Road S. in Kent, Washington along the south bank of the Green River from RM 21.7 to 22.2. The site area is 21.81 acres. The project includes a side channel to the Green River approximately 2,000 feet long with 3:1 side slopes. The new channel bottom would be below typical low flow conditions. The land between the new side channel and the Green River would be lowered to provide floodplain function for the Green River. It would include large woody debris and native plants to enhance habitat. Frager Road S. will be relocated to the south prior to excavation of the new side channel or the floodplain storage area.
