Domestic Violence Assistance Program Application
The County of Solano receives funds from marriage license fee surcharges collected pursuant to the California Domestic Violence Centers Act, adopted by the California Legislature, and codified at California Welfare & Institutions Code 18290-18309.5, to reduce the incidents of domestic violence along with reducing the trauma experienced by the victims. Under the Act, counties may establish domestic violence shelter-based programs or fund domestic violence shelter-based programs that meet the criteria set forth in the Act.
