Digital Recording and Transcription System
The existing servers, PC workstations, notebook computers and related hardware equipment are
currently approaching end-of-life and will need replacement in the near future. The court-based
software on which the system operates does not provide all of the transcription, annotation and
editorial needs of the Hansard operation nor does it have the capacity to support video web
streaming and high resolution logging to the extent required by Legislative Television.
The Office of the Speaker intends to replace this equipment and software with a fully redundant
system that will more fully benefit workflow within the Department and provide all of the
functionality it requires.
