Metro and a consortium of local governments are seeking cost and time schedule quotes for digital aerial orthophotos.
Metro's Data Resource Center (DRC) has been providing research services and products to the region's cities and counties for 27 years. For the past 18 years, the DRC has developed and maintained a Geographic Information System (GIS) with data covering the region: the Regional Land Information System (RLIS). Part of the system includes orthorectified digital imagery and is maintained in an raster GIS layer for access throughout the agency. Digital orthophotos has been collected annually since 1994. This imagery is used for land use, parks and transportation planning.
