The City is now accepting proposals for the completion of its Consolidated Plan, hereinafter referred to as "Plan", as required by 24 CFR Part 582 and consistent with 24 CFR Part 91. The Plan is to cover the five-year period from July 1, 2012-June 30, 2016.

The City receives approximately $1.5 Million annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide housing and economic development activities. These funds are used to provide programs that include, but are not limited to, housing rehabilitation, emergency assistance, lead hazard reduction, housing counseling, and economic development. A majority of these funds are used to provide housing rehabilitation throughout the areas of the Down East HOME Consortium including: Edgecombe and Nash Counties, Whitakers, Sharpsburg, Spring Hope, Nashville, Bailey, Middlesex, Tarboro, Princeville, Pinetops, Conetoe, and the City of Rocky Mount (lead entity).

Copies of the specifications necessary to complete this proposal are available at www.rockymountnc.gov. Please review these specifications carefully. All proposals are due to the attention of City of Rocky Mount Purchasing Manager, P.O. Box 1180, 331 S. Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27802, no later than 3:00 p.m., October 7, 2011. One original and five copies of your proposal and qualifications should be submitted in a sealed envelope with the following description clearly marked on it "Consolidated Plan Proposal".
