Development and Operation of a New Hotel and Convention Center in Bemidji, Minnesota
By means of this Request for Proposals (RFP), the City of Bemidji (City) invites proposals from qualified
developers or development teams to plan, design, finance, construct and operate a quality hotel, that will
serve as an attached headquarters hotel for the future Bemidji Regional Event Center (BREC), and
possibly operate the convention center component of the BREC. The City has purchased 137 acres along
the shores of Lake Bemidji (in close proximity to Bemidjis central business district) for the Center, which
will be part of a much larger mixed-use redevelopment project (South Lake Bemidji Redevelopment Site),
leveraging substantial public and private sector investment. The BREC is expected to be the hub of
entertainment, social, cultural and recreational events in north-central Minnesota, serving the broader
regional community.
