The City of Berkeley Planning and Development Department is seeking consultant services to assess the economic feasibility of future mixed-use development projects under different building height assumptions. The effects of limiting lot coverage and FAR (Floor Area Ratio) on development feasibility must also be assessed, along with potential "green building" provisions. In addition, the relative capacity of development to absorb potential impact fees and generate revenue to the City must be evaluated with regard to each of the aforementioned development variables. Planning Commission will use this analysis as it considers and recommends development regulations for Berkeley's Downtown Area.
