The Redmond "Streamway" is the riparian corridor as a whole, that which includes the stream
and the riparian open space along Redmond's urban streams. The City of Redmond contains
three Class 1 salmon bearing streams within the city limits; the Sammamish River, Bear Creek
and Evans Creek. In all, Redmond has approximately 10 miles of Class 1 streams and more
than 50 miles of smaller streams.
The City of Redmond is seeking the services of a qualified team to provide graphic design,
landscape design, artistic, and planning services to develop an identity (branding) that captures
the character of our stream corridors and adjacent lands. This identity will then be carried
through to create design guidelines that address orientation/wayfinding, entry, interpretive, and
regulatory signage and supporting features. Wayfinding strategies and supporting features may
include signage, art, printed material (maps, brochures), websites, graphics, trail design,
exhibits, kiosks, audio programs, or related.
The City expects the design to fully embrace the natural elements of the streamway corridors
through sustainable design. Natural/native materials, recycled materials, low impact and local
products must be employed. Designs must also consider durability, long-term maintenance and
eventual disposal. Designs must minimize the creation of waste and greenhouse gas emissions
during production, use and eventual disposal.
