Design/build Contract for the Construction of the Central Utility Plant Replacement
The City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is requesting proposals from qualified
Design/Build firms capable of performing Design/Build services pursuant to a Design/Build contract for
the construction of the CENTRAL UTILITY PLANT REPLACEMENT and Distribution Piping Project
(Project) with an estimated construction cost of $200 to $300 million. This Project is a component of the
Utilities and Infrastructure Element which is contemplated as a part of the LAX Development Program at
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). It is the intention of LAWA to enter into a contract with the
selected Proposer to provide Design/Build services as described in the attached documents. The
construction services will proceed only if the Project is approved pursuant to the required environmental
review under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Public Resources Code 21000 et seq., as
described in the attached documents.
