The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective offerors list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS), is currently seeking information from any company that can provide services necessary to perform on-call emergency interventional and vascular Interventional Radiology Services for VA Central Iowa Health Care System, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the VACIHCS.

VACIHCS is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide On-Call Interventional Radiology services as part of the VACIHCS on-call rotation. Shifts to be covered include:

Weeknight call: Monday Friday 5:00pm 5:00am (12 hours per day, estimated 42 days per year, estimated 504 total hours per year)
Weekend call: Saturday & Sunday 5:00am 5:00am (24 hours per day, estimated 34 weekend days per year, estimated 816 hours per year)
Holiday call: 5:00am 5:00am (24 hours per holiday, estimated 7 holidays, estimated 168 hours per year)
On-call physician(s) shall be available at all times during the covered shift for phone consultations.
On-call physician(s) must be present at the VACIHCS within 90 minutes of the page when medically indicated. This is estimated at 6 times per year.

A contractor providing onsite interventional radiologist services shall provide services that meet or exceed the American College of Radiology Guidelines http://www.acr.org/Quality-Safety/Standards-Guidelines/Practice-Guidelines-by-Modality/Interventional.

Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million.

***Only Vendors who currently are (or employ) Interventional Radiology physicians within the on-call radius (90 minutes) of the VACIHCS need respond. Responses from Vendors who are not (or do not currently employ) Interventional Radiology physicians within the on-call radius are not currently capable of providing services and will not be considered as part of this market research. ***

Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal.
