This is not a request for quote; this is a notice of the government's intent to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Burbank Dental Laboratory Inc., 2101 Floyd Street, Burbank CA 91504. The statutory authority permitting an exception to fair opportunity for this action is FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901 and is implemented by for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). This procurement is for a bridge 12-month sole source firm fixed price purchase order for NWI-Omaha, Grand Island, and Lincoln Dental lab prosthodontics in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The Network 23 Contracting Office (NCO23), St. Cloud MN intends to procure fixed and removable dental lab prosthodontics for the NWI Omaha, Grand Island, and Lincoln VA Health Care Systems on a sole source basis, utilizing FAR Part 13 procedures. This will provide uninterrupted service to the facilities and preventing an adverse effect on patient care while a long-term contract is solicited
