RFP - Demolition of building located at 60 Hill Street
August 8, 2011

The owner of the building located at 60 Hill Street in the Village of Greenwich, NY was notified in May 2009 that the building had been declared unsafe and directed him to bring it up to code or demolish. Despite repeated attempts to get the owner to comply with local law, no serious actions were done by the owner.

As a result, on May 24, 2011, a Superior Court Judge of Washington County, NY found in the Villages behalf and gave permission to the Village to either stabilize the structure or demolish and remove it, with the costs to be born by the owner.

Therefore, the Village of Greenwich seeks the following information:

1.The cost and time frame for demolition and removal of the building, and or

2.The cost and time frame for the stabilization of the building.

Proposals should be submitted to the Village Clerk by Friday, October 7 to be opened at the Village Board meeting of Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

The Village has a copy of a proposed stabilization plan prepared for the owner, but never put into effect. A copy of these plans may be viewed at Village Hall.
