The U.S. Census Bureau (USCB) is seeking information on how an interested contractor could provide on-site professional support services, validating and championing best practices and solutions, in support of the USCB Chief Technology Office (CTO). Specifically, these professional support services include:
•Strategy, expertise, and advisory services supporting consolidated and simplified application and service management and monitoring to support cost-effective, secure, and agile IT management.
•Existing data platform production support, improvement and automation
•Comprehensive planning for migration of the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) from the proof of concept research environment to the development/test environment and to the production environment.
•Successful and complete transition of the EDL to the development/test environment and production environment.
•Successful and complete transition of specified enterprise data to the EDL.
•Creation of documentation and support around these efforts as required
The existing research environment Enterprise Data Lake proof-of-concept integrates and configures various services and technologies for the U.S. Census Bureau using Apache architecture and is managed by the Cloudera/Hortonworks platform. The USCB requires service providers be Service Delivery Partner(s) to Cloudera/Hortonworks with direct developer involvement with the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP). Service providers shall leverage this experience and capability to continuously develop and fully integrate the HDP for the USCB as new versions of Apache Hadoop® are released.
