DUNBAR SCHOOL HISTORIC REHABILITATION
This project, located at 325 West Second Street, Tucson, Arizona 85705, is situated on property owned by the Dunbar Coalition. The work consists of all labor, materials and equipment for the rehabilitation of the Dunbar School, and the building and site is historic and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The current phase is focused on the oldest (1918) portion of the building, encompassing an area of approximately 11,000 sq. ft. pursuant to Project Specifications dated January 2009 and Drawings dated May 29, 2009 prepared by Poster Frost Associates. The challenge of this type of work over all new construction is the need to respect original work and preserve or repair as much of the historic building as possible, while providing for uses suitable for today. A detailed Scope of Work is contained in Appendix A. This invitation to bid also includes four alternates as described in the Project Specifications and Drawings as follows: Additive Alternate One Zinc Roofing Tiles as indicated on plans; Additive Alternate Two Landscape decomposed granite and irrigation system; Additive Alternate Three Fabric Shade System as indicated on the plans issued in upcoming Addendum No. 1; and Additive Alternate Four Interior renovation work including all mechanical, electrical, and architectural finish work associated with Conference Room 114, Office 104, and Classrooms 101, 103, 115 as indicated on the plans. The estimated cost for this project is approximately $980,000.00, excluding all Alternates.
