DNA Testing System
Term of Contract: The term of this contract is for a one (1) year period from the date of award with three (3) additional one (1) year renewal(s) by written agreement of the parties.
The Department has set an aggressive cutoff for IRT increasing the number of false positive screens detected. In order to decrease the number of second specimens requested for rescreen the Department desires to provide a semi-automated DNA testing system to screen for mutations in the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) gene.
1.Estimated annual quantity is 1,200 specimens. The Department reserves the right to increase/decrease quantities depending upon needs.
2.Reagent kits and equipment shall pass validation processes conducted by laboratory staff. A validation consists of a series of analytical runs with controls. The controls shall fall within the limits provided by the manufacturer. All reagents and equipment necessary for the validation shall be provided and serviced by the vendor.
