DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION OF A SMALL PROVIDER WEB PORTAL SOLUTION
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is issuing this Request for Responses pursuant to the "Deal Too Good to Pass Up" provisions of the Commonwealth's Operational Services Division's Procurement Policies and Procedures Handbook. EOHHS has been offered the opportunity to contract with New England Healthcare EDI Network, LLC (NEHEN) for the shared development and operation of a shared health care electronic transaction transmission web portal to connect providers and health plans to the major health care payer organizations in Massachusetts, including EOHHS. The cost of this development is being shared among all these health care payers. EOHHS, as a member of NEHEN, has participated in the design of this portal. This web portal will be a centrally hosted and serviced web portal that will support administrative transactions such as: eligibility, referrals and authorizations, claims status inquiry, claims submission and remittance reviewing. It will provide a direct gateway between providers to each of the participating payers. Under the contract, EOHHS will be obtaining from NEHEN a license to use the portal. MassHealth providers will be able via the portal to directly connect to EOHHS for these administrative transactions.
