Cumberland County NC School Additions
Sealed proposals will be received by the Cumberland County Board of Education at the
Operations Center, 810 Gillespie St. Fayetteville, North Carolina, 28306 up to 3:00 PM for
Single-Prime contracts on January 21, 2010 and immediately thereafter will be publicly
opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into the
construction of the Classroom Addition to Westover Middle School and Cape Fear High
School Cafeteria Expansion. There will be a Pre-Bid Conference on December 17, 2009 at
10:30 AM at Operations Center, 810 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
Contractors may bid on one or both projects but they will be managed as separate projects.
The classroom addition to the Westover Middle School includes a walkway canopy and
some site development. The 10,000 SF addition consists of masonry load-bearing
construction. The exterior is brick with single-ply membrane roof. The interior is primarily
painted block, acoustic tile ceilings, terrazzo, and tile floors. The 1,300 SF expansion to the
Cape Fear High School cafeteria is a steel frame with masonry. EIFS and storefront
exterior. The roof is a single-ply membrane.
