Naval Oceanography Operations Command (NOOC) is acquiring contractor support services for Cross Domain Solution (CDS) project management and sustainment engineering work. These services are required to allow Navy Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) commands the capability to provide 24x7 global weather and ocean model prediction products and services, weather satellite imagery products, tropical cyclone divert and sortie recommendations, and related tactical decision aids and data in support of Naval Joint and Coalition operations worldwide.
The CDS systems in use at Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC), Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO), Fleet Weather Center Norfolk (FWC-N), Fleet Weather Center San Diego (FWC-SD), and Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) support the operational capabilities identified in Section 1.0.
Contractor support services are necessary to sustain the proper operation of METOC CDS systems including all programmatic, engineering, and accreditation support activities necessary for the operation of the current systems and their eventual replacements to prevent any negative impacts to the METOC commandsb ability to provide the afore mentioned operational capabilities.
