The Texas Tech University System seeks to commission a professional artist to create a site-specific exterior sculpture(s) of an anonymous human form(s) to be placed outside the northeast corner of the Creative Movement Studio. Another option could be a piece affixed to the face of the building. Forms should exhibit abstracted movement and convey a sense of power. Because there are many types of dance, no one form of dance should be prominent. Forms should convey that dance is an inclusive art form. Submitted designs should reflect the intimate, welcoming, and vibrant community of dancers. As this piece(s) will sit on the northeast corner of the building, keep in mind scale and visibility as individuals on campus approach the building. This is a high-traffic, visible area and the goal is for this piece to accurately convey the primary use of the Creative Movement Studio.
