Creation of Historic District Guidelines
The Town is seeking the services of a person(s)/company knowledgeable in the field
of historic preservation. This person(s)/company must be willing to work with the
Historic Preservation Commission and staff to craft the most appropriate design guidelines for
our town. Established in 1889, the town has a rich architectural history that is deserving of
standards that preserve and enhance its character. The Waxhaw Historic Preservation
Commission wishes to provide design guidelines that give the Commission, staff and property
owner a clear understanding of what is and is not suitable within the historic district.
