Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Announcement
NCO 16, Division II Supply Team, Overton Brooks VA Healthcare System is seeking to award an Open Market Purchase Order IAW FAR 13.5 for the Purchase of Nikon Microscopy equipment to be delivered to and installed at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA. This procurement is conducted under NAICS 333314 Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing.
This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.
This is a Brand Name Procurement of Nikon Microscopy equipment products (See attached Brand Name J&A.) In order to qualify for award, firms must be the OEM or provide in writing from the OEM authorization to distribute the OEM s equipment. The lowest quote meeting these qualifications and the specifications below will be chosen for award.
This RFQ closes on 30 April 2018 at NOON Central Time. Quotes may be submitted via email to paul.filhiol@va.gov .
II. Salient Characteristics Microscopes:
1. The base of the microscope shall not exceed 12 inches in width, and 13.5 inches in depth due to space limitations.
2. The nosepiece shall hold no less than 6 objectives
3. The microscope shall use LED illumination
4. The microscope shall have the following objectives:
a. Ultra wide 2x objective lens
b. 4x objective lens (or 50x oil immersion objective lens for hematology)
c. 10x objective lens
d. 20x objective lens
e. 40x objective lens
f. 100x oil immersion objective lens
5. The microscope shall have polarizing capabilities that include allowing for crystal analysis and special stain studies
6. The microscope shall have a binocular head (10x eyepieces) with tilting and telescoping features
7. The microscope shall the available accessories to allow a second viewer of the slide for educational purposes.
8. The microscope shall have an adjustable condenser
9. The microscope camera shall have at minimum 5.5 megapixel image sensor
10. The microscope camera shall be fully functional when not connected to a PC.
11. The microscope body shall have an image capture button compatible with the camera and camera control module
12. The microscope camera control module shall have no less than a 10 inch, touch screen display that does not exceed 12 inches in width
13. The microscope control module shall function independently if not connected to a PC.
14. The camera shall be compatible with the camera control unit
15. The camera control unit shall have blue tooth capabilities to a wireless keyboard and mouse
16. The cameral control unit shall be able to measure a selected area on the display
17. The cameral control unit shall have internal storage and expandable external storage capabilities (ie external hard drive or jump drive or card slot)
18. The camera and control module shall be Windows 7 compatible
19. The vendor shall provide necessary software updates to ensure continued compliance with the Department of Veteran s Affairs approved software list (TRM)
