The Alliance is a framework of collaborative community and school ventures and partnerships, through which Public School middle-school students participate in a geographically-defined network of afterschool programs that offer meaningful enrichment in safe and structured environments.
With this RFP, Metro is seeking a Coordinating Agency to support the Alliance in establishing this South Central Zone. This Coordinating Agency will be an established and qualified provider responsible for ensuring that high-quality comprehensive afterschool programming is delivered on-site at the South Central Zones middle schools (or at convenient alternative sites where preferable) and for connecting these programs with other community-based providers. This Coordinating Agency will implement the coordinated scheduling, marketing, recruitment, tracking, and transportation processes developed by the Alliance. The Coordinating Agency will use its knowledge of the resources and barriers in that geographic area to maximize effectiveness of these processes and of implementation of the SC Zone of the Alliance as a whole. As a result, 250 additional Metro middle-school students from the SC Zone will be enrolled and engaged in coordinated after-school programming during the spring semester of 2011.
