The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service, Cotton and Tobacco Program intends to issue a request for proposals to construct a new cotton classing facility on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, Texas. The building will include a controlled-condition cotton testing laboratory, mechanical equipment room, bale press room, office space, restrooms, storage, breakroom, vending space, locker storage, public space including a lobby with seating areas, and an oversized conference room with an adjacent service/catering kitchen.

The magnitude of this project is between $7 million and $12 million. The NAICS code is 236220, with a small business size standard of $39.5 million. The solicitation and all other documents related to this procurement will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities website (fbo.gov) in October.
