GENERAL: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior (DOI), Denver Service Center (DSC), is soliciting proposals on a unrestricted, full and open basis from all interested businesses having the capability to perform the work described below. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov . Proposal documents will be available for download in Microsoft Word and Excel, HTML, and Adobe PDF; Specifications and drawings will be available in Adobe PDF format. Please Note: Paper copies of the solicitation will not be made available.

This IS A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT


PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project consists of the construction of a soldier pile wall on a slope to the north of the Texas Monument and Railroad Redoubt Earthworks in the Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, MS. The bluff line is currently located between 15 and 17 feet from the historic fortification and memorial. At the base of this slope is an active rail line owned and operated by Kansas City Southern Railway. Purpose of project is to construct a retaining wall to prevent soil erosion and prevent the Texas State Memorial from collapsing down the slope and onto the railroad tracks. The work includes construction of approximately 284 linear feet (LF) of soldier pile wall (this total LF includes the base and the two (2) options). Some of construction activities include minor grading at the crest of the slope and mass final grading at toe of wall and swale at crest, removal of trees and vegetation, drilling and installation of soldier piles with crane, earthwork that includes cut of tiers on downslope side of the future wall, installation of tie-back anchors and precast concrete panels. Work will also include rehabilitation of any disturbed area during construction. The project site will be within an active National Military Park with an active Railway abutting an edge of the construction zone.
