Construction Engineering Inspection services for Hampton Road District-Wide contact-II
The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking expressions of interest from consulting engineering
firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering services for:
A Hampton Roads District-Wide (Contract II), providing construction engineering inspection services under a
Fixed Billable Rate Contract. This contract will be for a 1 year contract period with optional 2 one-year
renewable terms. The proposed one-year contract will have a total maximum compensation not to exceed
$2,000,000.00.
This work is to be accomplished utilizing computerized design and drafting systems compatible with the
Departments automated design and drafting systems. The Departments roadway design system is GEOPAK
Civil Design Software and the drafting system is Microstation. The Consultant Engineering Services will be
provided in accordance with the requirements of the Departments policies and procedures and FHWAs
guidelines. This Request for Proposal does not commit the Department to award a contract, to pay any costs
incurred in the preparation of a proposal for this request, or to procure or contract for services. The Department
reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this request, to negotiate with
any qualified firm or to modify or cancel in part or in its entirety the Request for Proposal if it is in the best
interest of the Department to do so.
