Seeking information for market research purposes to determine if there is a provider that can support a request for curriculum development and to obtain initial training for a prototype confined space emergency response team (ERT). This effort is necessary as a means to provide a safer environment and to support the employees entering confined spaces. Common objectives of this training include the preparation of ERT members to provide emergency response in the event of non-IDLH incidents that occur during normal Master Entry Plan (MEP) operations.

An ideal approach could include: (1) classroom instruction, (2) hands-on skill training, and (3) administration of a knowledge assessment of students. The course would be taught using provided classrooms, real permit spaces (or equivalent models), and simulated victims (dummies) for response scenarios. Written course material, such as student guides and assessment tests, and an evaluation matrix to be used in the student assessment would be provided by the contractor/instructor.

Other possible information includes:
• a brief history of why the ERT concept was created and the relevance to the employees' safety Students will review the Emergency Response Process
• identifying the ERT members' roles and responsibilities,
• identifying situations where emergency response would be required
• Identify situations where ERT members should stand down and wait for the Fire Department to respond
• a review of possible medical conditions that may be encountered
• proper victim extraction techniques to be used when required and possible hazards (other than atmospheric) that may be encountered during the victim extraction process.
• Hands-On Extraction Exercises
